WINDOW RESTORATION PROJECT GHTD IFB #06-010

The Greater Hartford Transit District (GHTD), Hartford, Connecticut, owner and operator of the Union Station Intermodal Transportation Center is seeking a firm or firms to conduct the restoration of all the exterior windows of the Union Station Transportation Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Bids documents including drawings and specifications will be available on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Crosskey Architects LLC office located at One Union Place, 3rd Floor North (860)724-3000. The cost of the documents is $50 per set, which will be refunded to each bidder who returns the Plans and Specifications in good condition within fifteen (15) days after the bid due date.

Bids shall be submitted to Sandra E. Sheehan, Greater Hartford Transit District, One Union Place, Hartford, CT. 06103, on or before 2:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. There will be a public bid opening at 2:45 p.m. EST. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held by the District on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., to provide an opportunity for a walk thru and outline the requirements the District will expect of the Bidder, as well as to provide the opportunity for questions and explanations. Such Conference will be held in the District’s Offices in the Multipurpose Room at One Union Place, Hartford, Connecticut. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference is not mandatory, and is not a condition for final award.

Bids received after the deadline will not be considered and will be returned to the bidder unopened. Any changes, or any requests for changes in the specifications, will not be recognized after sealed bids are submitted to the District.

Any contract resulting from this invitation for bids is subject to a financial assistance contract between the District and the Federal Transit Administration. All bidders will be required to certify that they are not on the Comptroller General's list of ineligible contractors. Further, the contractor will be required to comply with all applicable equal employment opportunity laws and regulations.

The GHTD hereby notifies all bidders that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this Invitation for Bids, advertisement or solicitation, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit proposals in response, and will not be subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for an award.

The GHTD reserves the right to reject any and all bids as submitted by this Invitation for Bids, and to waive informalities and irregularities, as it deems in its best interest.
